Classic Chicago Chops
While Chicago is home to many great chophouses, you can’t go wrong with the amazing aged steaks at Gibsons.
While this is not the most elegant of places, it serves as a local hangout for celebrities like former mayor Richard Daley and Michael Jordan. It’s easy to see why. The restaurant’s friendly staff and comfortable leather booths make it very easy to feel at home there.
For over 25 years, it’s been a destination for locals and tourists alike. The dining room can get a little noisy, so consider booking the private room for groups of eight or more if you need to discuss business. A booth is ideal for entertaining a few clients.
For an impressive way to start the meal, order the Spicy Lobster Cocktail, which is piled into a steamed artichoke. Just a few can comfortably feed a large party. The steaks are exactly what you’d expect. The thick, decadent cuts are cooked to order, just the way you like it. And if you can’t finish it all, they’re happy to doggie-bag it for you.
