Good Clean Fun in Greenwich Village
Strip House is the best time you’ll have in a steakhouse.
For this Greenwich Village restaurant, it’s all about the space. Arrive a little early to grab a drink at the bar. From there, you walk down a flight of stairs into a speakeasy-style dining room. Comfortable leather booths make up the perimeter of the restaurant. Don’t miss the quirky vintage nudes that decorate the room. That’s the owners’ tongue-in-cheek ode to the name.
As you can imagine, their New York strips are great, but their seafood equally deserves your attention. They have an excellent raw bar and offer some very unique fish dishes. The Seafood Plateau and Lobster Bisque are very impressive. Large groups will delight in the ridiculous 24-layer Strip House chocolate cake, which practically topples over, it’s so huge.
Refer to the staff for deciphering their 6,000-bottle wine list. There are many reasonable California Cabernets and a few expensive French reds that might make you blush.

Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad, Dry-Aged Porterhouse for Two, Maine Lobster, Chili-Rubbed Yellow Fin Tuna, and Faroe Island Salmon, and 24-Layer Strip House Chocolate Cake.

There are a lot of great steak houses in NYC but this is one of my favorites. Top 5 for me.
