La Grotta

A Hidden Gem in Buckhead

It’s safe to say that Atlanta’s best restaurants can be found on Peachtree Street. While this Italian spot is a bit tucked away in the lower level of a condominium, the unique dishes prepared in an authentic style make La Grotta worth the extra search.

Unlike the typically heavy dishes found at your neighborhood trattoria, the chef uses fresh, seasonal ingredients—even in the pastas—to keep his dishes light. Even if you eat a lot, you and your guests will not feel over-stuffed. For a more relaxed experience, we love to order a few appetizers—the calamari and portabella salad are our favorites—and follow with a pasta dish. However by ordering a few more composed dishes, like the beef carpaccio with shaved black truffles and the grilled lamb chops, the elegant restaurant just as easily hosts upscale dinners. For guests with eating restrictions, the kitchen is great about making dishes gluten-free, vegetarian, and low-fat.

Take advantage of their large-format wines for big groups, which come in three-liter bottles. They have an impressive selection of Super Tuscans and some of the best reds that you will find anywhere.

Menu Highlights:
Calamari Con Pesto, Portobella Alla Griglia Con Caprino, Cappellini Con Pancetta, Pomodoro Fresco E Mascropone, Tiramisu, and 3-Liter Felsina Chianti Classico Reserva, Beredenga.
