The robust wine list at Donovan’s stands out from other southwestern chains.

Its cellars, which received accolades from Wine Spectator, hold a unique selection of bottles ranging from approachable Chardonnays to rare Napa Cabernet reserves. With a little help from their trained sommeliers, we’ve ordered many excellent full-bodied reds. Be sure to grab a drink at the bar before your meal. Their San Diego location is known for its vibrant bar scene.

The food tends to be expensive here, but the marbled steaks and impressive steamed shellfish dishes are well worth it. We recommend ordering a side of the thick, crunchy onion rings for the table. They pair perfectly with a fat, bone-in New York Strip.

They have private dining rooms fit a range of groups. A few of their rooms have built-in LCD projects and podiums for business presentations.
