Golden Age Dining in the Embarcadero
Escape the busy Embarcadero in this charming belle époque restaurant. The glamorous décor may transport you to a finer era, but the food is fabulously modern.
Don’t be scared away by the unusual sounding vegetables on the menu. Their chef Nancy Oakes is so well known for her beautifully composed dishes and unique pairings that she took home a James Beard Award in 2012. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen, from the beet salad to the filet mignon, is unexpected and completely delicious. If you’re dining with one person, it’s fun to sit at the counter and watch the chefs in action. Larger groups will benefit from a private room, as the place gets a little noisy.
The wine list showcases Napa Valley’s premier producers. They also have many affordable French Chardonnays and bold Bordeaux wines. The staff are excellent and can help you find the right bottle to go with your meal.
Menu Highlights:
Hudson Vally Foie Gras, Angus Filet Mignon, and Malted Milk Ice Cream Bonbons.
