High-end Chinese in Midtown East
The vibrant dining room at Shun Lee is a refreshing break from New York’s many steakhouses and Italian joints.
Their tableside dishes and unique presentations make this one of our favorite places to take clients. Be sure to start off your night with a cocktail. The bar has a wide variety of top-shelf liquors and can make anything you want. Their complementary spiced walnuts are excellent and they will happily bring you a second portion, if you ask.
Dishes here are served family-style, so order a variety of items from the menu. The Beijing duck, which tuxedoed waiters carve to order, is an impressive dish to get for a group. It doesn’t serve very many people though, so be sure to get other large entrees such as the lobster with garlic, to round out your meal. They also have a number of low-carb and gluten-free options.
If you can, try to stay in the main dining room. Its colorful screens and statues are fun to look at during dinner. Groups larger than 10 can be comfortably seated upstairs in a semi-private room.
