Upscale Neighborhood Italian Fare
Babbo brings Italy to New York like no other restaurant.
We admit we’re partial to this restaurant because one of our founder’s best friends used to live across the street. Before the chef became so famous, they would sit on her steps drinking wine and talking politics with Mario Batali.
Like our founder’s friend, locals make up the bulk of the intimate dining room. The kitchen sources a lot of their fresh ingredients from Italy, so there’s always some new unusual dish that the staff can’t wait to share with the table. We look forward to the Deconstructed Osso Buco for Two served on a bed of golden orzo. Their pastas are especially outstanding.
Their wines represent Italy’s diverse wine-making regions and are all hand-selected by Batali. That said, they’re all unique choices you won’t find anywhere else. Ask for help, and you will find something within almost any budget.
Menu Highlights:
Grilled Octopus, Mussels ‘alla Tarantina, Proscuitto San Daniele Reserva, Duck, Brasato al Barolo, and Deconstructed Osso Buco for Two.
